Lord's Prayer Beads
Praying the 7 Petitions of the Lord's Prayer
In his Small Catechism, Martin Luther presented the Lord's Prayer in its seven petitions, fleshing out the meaning through careful introspection. This bracelet features nine beads of a deep purple (representing the seven petitions plus the introduction and closing of the prayer) and seven white spacer beads where you may pause to breathe. A gold-plated charm, engraved with the text of the Lord's Prayer, completes the design.
Both Augsburg Fortress and Concordia Publishing House offer apps with the text and explanations of Luther's Small Catechism. The apps are available on Google Play or in the Apple Store.
